Felker Named Men's Basketball Head Coach

Paul Felker Former Ranger Paul Felker has been named Olympic College men's basketball head coach. Felker played for the Rangers under current Athletic Director Barry Janusch from 1996-1998.  He spent the previous 10 years as a sales manager for PepsiCo North America, while at the same time running a successful personal training business focused specifically on basketball development. Prior to that, Felker spent 8 years as a lead trainer for Total Package Basketball, the premier AAU program on the Kitsap Peninsula, where he trained the likes of Steven Gray who prepped at Bainbridge Island HS and was a standout player for the Gonzaga Bulldogs, along with many other local top tier athletes that played at all levels of college basketball. Also during this time, Felker was the assistant for the men's basketball team here at Olympic College, working alongside OC standout Billy Landram. After completing his AA and finishing up a successful playing career at Olympic College, Felker went on to attend Central Washington University. There he was a key member of both the 1999-00 team and the 2000-01 team, both which advanced to the NCAA Division II national tournament, advancing to the round of 16, and the round of 32, respectively. Felker graduated with a BA in Family Studies from CWU in 2001.

Prior to Olympic College, Felker prepped at Enumclaw High School, in Enumclaw, WA, for Coach Bill Hawk. Hawk was inducted into the Washington Interscholastic Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame in 2013. Felker was a three-year starter and lettered all three seasons. He was first team all-league both his Junior and Senior campaigns. His Senior season the Hornets won the SPSL 3A league championship. Felker finished his playing career at Enumclaw HS as the third leading scorer in school history, and also holds the single season record for steals. Felker played alongside Brian Scalabrine in HS, Scalabrine went on to star at the University of Southern California, and from there played 12 seasons in the NBA, earning an NBA title with the Boston Celtics in '08.

In his spare time, Felker enjoys spending time with friends and family, golfing, and, running.
