Colin Cavanagh of Olympic College golf

NORTH PLAINS, OR | Sophomore Colin Cavanaugh finished tied for third at the Southwestern Oregon Invite, hosted by Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course.

Cavannaugh stayed near the top all day, scorring birdies twice in the first 10 holes.  A double-bogey on 17 knocked him from the lead.  He finished with a 77 (+6).  "Colin played exteremly well the entire day, shared head coach Bjorn Bjorke, "He led or was near the top until the final 2 holes when he doubled 7. This was Colin's only event this fall and should propel him to a strong spring."

Freshman Landon Betzing started very strong, scoring birdies on holes 3 and 5.  He finished scoring 92 (+21).

"I'm looking forward to the off-season with this team," shares Bjorke, "We have a lot to learn this off-season but I like where we are and I can't wait until spring."

The team has completed their fall season, which was shortened due to COVID-19.  Tournaments will start again in spring quarter.
