Following the recommendations from the NWAC office, the North Region Commissioners have decided to push back the start date of the 2022 North Region Men's and Women's Basketball League schedule. "[Starting later] gives our student-athletes returning from the holiday break time to get tested and, if needed, isolate and quarantine. With almost all NWAC games canceled prior to Christmas and this week, it also allows opportunities for student-athlete's to get back into playing condition," stated Marco Azurdia, NWAC Executive Director.
This decision follows a rough December where many college and professional sport contests were cancelled due to COVID outbreaks.
Instead of the the Ranger's league season starting January 5 at home versus Everett, the teams will now travel to Edmonds on January 19 for their league opener. The NWAC Championship basketball tournament is now scheduled 3/17-20 and 3/26-27, 2022 at Everett Community College. Check out the updated schedules here: Men | Women.
