Overview of the season:
Our awards were voted by their teammates and were very spot on. As a team we took pride in our energy and being the best supportive teammates we could be on and off the court. Esther really led the energy in practice and in games, which helped give our team the identity it had within our league. Being an undersized team, our defense was crucial keeping us in close games. Maddy was everywhere and active really leading the defensive energy with deflections, steals and boards. She set the tone and all of our players hit the court with that same contagious energy. We struggled as a team on the offensive end, so our Co-MVPs really came in clutch getting the ball in the hoop. Grace Harder's inside presence and clean up around the rim was critical. She would step out and knock down big three's as well, which really gained us momentum. Kylee contributed on the defensive end as a solid center piece to our zone, as well as our most consistent scorer. Kylee created shots for teammates and was a knock down shooter. She had a floater finish that was hard to guard and great touch around the rim. As a team we really contributed equally to our success and shortcomings throughout the season, we have learned as a team and really grew over the season. Returners next year will have a huge impact on continuing the high energy positive culture we altogether created. While recruits will come in and elevate our size, contribute to our offense and defensive style of play, and impact our success in the coming season.
