NORTH PLAINS, OR |  Freshman Mackenzie Lake capped off a stellar week, finishing second at Monday's Southwestern Oregon CC Invitational, hosted by Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club. The club is located just outside Portland, Oregon.

Lake lead through the front nine, shooting a 45 (+9) on the front half of the tough Ghost Creek course.  The course is world-famous and where Tiger Woods won his 3rd consecutive U.S. Amateur Championship.  Lake struggled hitting consistent shots on the back course.  She finished with a 98 (+22), three shots off the eventual champion, Janae Martinez from Columbia Basin, who birdied on the 12th hole to take the lead.

"This is a tough course," shared head coach Bjorn Bjorke, "Both teams competed really hard and earned valuable experience playing this championship course.  This is our last tournament until spring.  We have work to do in the off-season and the athletes are ready to get better."
